If there’s one word that encapsulates the UNH Franklin Pierce experience of , LLM-IP ’25 it’s “transformative.” With that in mind, Bisht points to the tight-knit community as central to her year at the school. 

“From professors to peers, everyone is approachable and encouraging,” says Bisht, who served as a graduate admissions ambassador at the law school. “It never felt like we were navigating this journey alone.” 

Bisht came to the U.S. from India, determined to embrace a hands-on approach to learning, particularly in Trademark Law, which she identifies as her favorite course. She recalls a moment from that class that involved analyzing HARIBO candy packaging to identify real-life trademark examples, blending theory with practical applications. 

Bisht also connected with Professor Cassandra LaRae-Perez and mentions that the two had an enriching conversation about the .  

“We discussed practical aspects of both systems,” Bisht says, “which gave me a deeper comparative understanding and made the subject more meaningful and applicable to my future career.” 

Throughout her LLM program, Bisht developed analytical skills that allowed her to think about complex IP issues while honing her persuasive legal writing abilities. She found value in the interactive learning style encouraged by her professors, and in the camaraderie working alongside her peers. 

When not studying or attending classes, Bisht enjoyed the peaceful vibe of Concord, from evening bike rides with friends, to the “magical” snowfall that “created a joyful memory outside the classroom. Sliding down the snowy hills with classmates was thrilling and hilarious,” she says.  

Bisht also appreciated the accessibility of the city’s restaurants, shops, and social spots, many within walking distance of the law school. “The peaceful environment meant fewer distractions and more focus on studies,” she adds, “while still being part of a friendly and supportive community.” 

The law school’s collaborative spirit, combined with the opportunity to meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds, enriched Bisht’s experience beyond academics. She says that sharing meals, celebrating American traditions, and engaging with different perspectives helped her grow both personally and professionally. 

“These moments broadened my worldview,” she says. “This journey has made me more confident, independent, and culturally aware.”
