The Shifting Political Landscape is Drawing More Individuals to Public Service Lawyering

While almost half of beginning law students say they want to work in public service, by graduation those percentages fall dramatically. Still, the trend is changing: these days more newly-minted lawyers are choosing careers in government and the nonprofit sector, as the ever-shifting political landscape draws more individuals to consider public service lawyering.

On this episode of The Legal Impact, we look at these trends and how to support students who want to work in this field. Our guest, Anna Brown, is the Executive Director of the Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public Service at UNH Franklin Pierce 金莲直播. 

Anna is one of New Hampshire鈥檚 leading experts on state government and policy. For more than 10 years, she has served as executive director and director of research and analysis for , a nonpartisan nonprofit that tracks state legislation and policy, profiles candidates for state and federal office, and builds connections between citizens and their elected officials. Brown is a founding member of the New Hampshire Civic Learning Coalition, a member of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits Policy Committee, and a frequent commentator in local media on matters of New Hampshire policy and governance. She has extensive experience organizing and moderating community discussions and planning civic engagement initiatives.
